Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

Feel Purr records your cat's purr and turns it into a haptic you can feel. This policy explains what that involves, in plain language, and exactly what we do (and don't do) with any information along the way.

The short version

  • Your cat's purr recording never leaves your phone. It's processed on-device and isn't uploaded anywhere.
  • You don't need to create an account or hand over an email address to use the app.
  • We don't use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
  • Purchases are one-time, handled by Apple, and there are no subscriptions.

Microphone & purr recordings

Feel Purr asks for microphone access to record your cat's purr and convert it into a haptic pattern. That recording is processed entirely on your device to build the haptic — the audio itself is never uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone. If you deny microphone access, recording simply won't work; everything else in the app still does.

Accounts

You don't need to sign up to use Feel Purr. On first launch, the app quietly creates an anonymous account on our server tied to a random device identifier, so your purchases can be restored if you reinstall or switch devices — no name, email, or personal details are involved.

If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier and (if you allow it) email address that Apple provides, and use it only to link your account and purchases across devices. You can use Apple's private relay email if you'd rather not share your real address, and signing in is always optional — purchasing and using purrs never requires it.

Purchases

Purrs are sold as one-time in-app purchases through the App Store — there are no subscriptions. When you buy one, Apple handles payment and we verify the transaction with Apple's servers to record which purrs your account owns, so they stay unlocked if you reinstall the app or restore purchases. We don't see or store your payment details; that's handled entirely by Apple.

What we store

On our servers, we keep only what's needed to run the app:

  • An anonymous device identifier (or your Apple sign-in identifier, if you sign in)
  • A session token so the app can talk to our server
  • A record of which purrs your account has purchased

We don't store your cat's purr recordings, photos, or any content you create in the app.

Third parties

Feel Purr doesn't include any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting tools. The only outside party involved is Apple, for App Store purchases and, optionally, Sign in with Apple.

Data deletion

Want your account and purchase records deleted? Email us at the address below and we'll remove them. Since recordings never leave your device, deleting them is as simple as deleting the app.

Children's privacy

Feel Purr is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you're okay with the update.
